Coollector

Coollector gives you the possibility of building a movie database, from the ground up, quickly and easily. Furthermore, it lets you edit a movie's information, rate it and much more. The best part is that all the information you need about a movie is already there, so you don't have to type it yourself. The application is available for Mac OS X and Windows and it is free to try, without any functionality restrictions.

The main characteristic of Coollector is the fact that it gives you access to huge online movies database from the very beginning. Its user interface consists of two tabbed panels, on which you can browse through movies and view their plots, actors and other details. You can use one or more filters, to show owned items or movies from a specific genre, country and year.

Of course, if you are looking for a specific movie, you can find it immediately by simply typing its name on the left panel. Once you find the movie you are looking for, you can hit an option on the left pane, next to its details, to mark it as owned. As previously mentioned, you can view owned movies separately, but you can also view playable ones, if you have them on your hard drive, rated titles, loaned items, titles in your wishlist and more.

Besides looking over a movie's details, you can also bring up information about actors. The viewing method for actors is the reverse of the viewing mode for movies. If you have to select movies on the left panel and view their information on the right one, actors can be selected on the right panel, in a movie's cast and their bio will appear on the left panel, where you will also find other movies they have played in.
